In the same month of this year, the company flew 16.9 million passengers. The Best Budget Airlines for Cheap Flights Ryanair and EasyJet are easily the most recognizable low-cost airlines in Europe, together servicing over 250 million passengers a year. In August of 2021, during heightened restrictions due to Covid-19, Ryanair flew around 11 million people. In total, the budget airline took 148 million passengers throughout the last 12 months. The airline announced that the number of passengers flying with the airline increased a whopping 242 per cent annually to August of this year. The awards comes just weeks after Ryanair announced that they had hit record-breaking numbers in August, with passenger traffic growing to an immense 16.9 million travellers in the month, smashing previous records for the company.įor its fourth consecutive month Ryanair, which is the fifth largest airline operator in the world, surpassed previous numbers, hitting an all-time high. As well as the award for best airline, Qatar Airways also took home eight further awards in Best Business Class, Best Business Class Seat and Best Business Class Lounge Dining. Qatar Airways took the overall award, its seventh time taking the award since it first launched in 199.
